Lee Roy Selmon's story combines football scholarships for his family and service to the community. He was the youngest son of Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. He also worked with the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the 10 of the most notable young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs in the time he played football at college. The year 1975 was the first time he was on the team. group. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an associate director of sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
