Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu was born in the US. She is an American actress, a singer and voice-over artist. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, Lucy Liu serves as a role-model for several Asian actors who are in Hollywood who want to succeed. An early string of success performances in popular TV series resulted in her being popular for her role in the show on Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. Following a dramatic rise in fame, the actress was offered roles on major screens such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance in the role of Japanese crime lord O-Ren Ishii in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. In the same time frame she was the main character in a few flops in the field such as Rise: Blood Hunter. She then began to voice characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's role on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't produce positive results. A recurring role in the critically-acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as an established actress. Liu is careful when choosing roles in order so that she doesn't get stereotyped in a field which is extremely competitive. Although she's embraced her roots she has not allowed it to limit her as an artist.
