Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and obtained a MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. After her graduation, she was a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. It was her celebrity that has led to the attraction of many famous contributors who shared their thoughts on news political, culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 after she decided to stand as an independent candidate for the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes listed her 12th in its top 10 list of Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in the year 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. She was extremely close to her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother that formed her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At 16 years of age she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. In the years following her degree she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV.
